Riser and cupboard fire doors in West Glamorgan, done to the evidence
Across West Glamorgan, from Swansea to Neath, we survey, supply and fit riser and cupboard fire doors for homes, blocks of flats and workplaces.
We match riser doors in West Glamorgan to the rating of the riser enclosure, not to whatever was there before. Riser and meter cupboard doors in West Glamorgan blocks are easy to overlook until an inspection flags them.
Managing agents, landlords, schools, care providers, businesses and homeowners in West Glamorgan can all use one team for survey, supply, installation and evidence. We plan work around occupants and hand over a record for every door.
Closer or lock?
Doors on stores and risers that are kept locked shut usually do not need a self-closer, as long as the strategy allows it and the door is marked accordingly. Doors that are used regularly, such as cleaner's stores, usually do. We follow the fire strategy and the risk assessment for each opening.
Rules and responsibilities in West Glamorgan
Because West Glamorgan is in Wales, we work to the Building Regulations as they apply in Wales and to the Welsh version of Approved Document B. The responsible person duties under the Fire Safety Order 2005 still apply to workplaces and common parts.
England's fire door checking rules for tall residential buildings do not apply in Wales, so the checking frequency for doors in West Glamorgan comes from your fire risk assessment.

Common questions
Do you provide riser and cupboard fire doors across West Glamorgan?
Yes. We cover all of West Glamorgan, including Swansea and Neath. Surveys and written quotes are free.
What rating should a riser door be?
It should match the fire resistance the strategy requires for the riser enclosure, commonly 30 or 60 minutes. We confirm it before ordering.
Can I use a standard access panel for a riser?
Only if it is a fire-rated product with evidence for the wall rating. Many ordinary access panels and cupboard doors are not fire rated.
