Whether your building is in Swansea, Neath or a smaller place in West Glamorgan, we can provide integral garage fire doors with the same evidence-led approach.
If you are selling a home in West Glamorgan, we can leave product details for your solicitor along with the door. For homes in West Glamorgan with an integral garage, the door into the house is one of the few internal doors expected to be fire-rated and self-closing.
Fire door work in West Glamorgan spans housing providers with large estates, individual landlords, businesses and homeowners. We price every job from a survey, never from a list price alone, because the condition of the frames and the hardware makes a real difference.
When you might need a new garage door
The usual triggers are building control flagging the door during a conversion or extension, a house sale survey raising it, or the discovery that the original door has been swapped for a standard internal door. Some garage conversions remove the need altogether; others create new requirements. Our guide to fire doors in houses explains when they are needed.
Rules and responsibilities in West Glamorgan
Because West Glamorgan is in Wales, we work to the Building Regulations as they apply in Wales and to the Welsh version of Approved Document B. The responsible person duties under the Fire Safety Order 2005 still apply to workplaces and common parts.
England's fire door checking rules for tall residential buildings do not apply in Wales, so the checking frequency for doors in West Glamorgan comes from your fire risk assessment.

Questions
Do you provide integral garage fire doors across West Glamorgan?
Yes. We cover all of West Glamorgan, including Swansea and Neath. Surveys and written quotes are free.
Does my garage door need to be a fire door?
If the garage is integral to the house, Approved Document B in England expects the connecting door to be a fire door with smoke control. Requirements in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland are similar in purpose but set out in their own guidance.
Can it match my other doors?
Often, yes. Many certified ranges include panelled and flush styles in finishes that blend with standard internal doors.
