Riser and cupboard fire doors in Gorseinon: what's involved
From the SA4 postcode district outwards, we take on riser and cupboard fire doors across Gorseinon for homes, blocks and workplaces.
Around Gorseinon, houses with integral garages, light industrial buildings and small blocks of flats all depend on fire doors that close, latch and seal. We survey each opening and tell you plainly which doors need work and which don't.
Riser and meter cupboard doors in Gorseinon blocks are easy to overlook until an inspection flags them. While fitting riser doors in Gorseinon, we photograph any gaps in fire stopping we can see and pass them on to you.
Why riser doors get overlooked
Service riser doors are small, often hidden and rarely opened, so they are easy to forget until an inspection finds them. Common faults include cheap access panels that are not fire rated, missing seals, broken locks and doors that have been removed for access and never refitted. A riser runs through every floor, so a weak door can let fire or smoke bypass the building's compartments.
Each installation includes:
- Fire-rated riser and cupboard doorsets
- Record of any fire stopping concerns found
- Signage as required
- Seals and frame gap sealing

Questions from Gorseinon
Is Gorseinon within your coverage area?
It is. We cover Gorseinon in West Glamorgan and neighbouring towns such as Llanelli. There is no charge for the survey.
How quickly can you survey in Gorseinon?
It depends on the number of doors and access, but we offer survey dates as soon as we reply to your enquiry. If an inspection has found urgent safety issues, tell us and we'll prioritise.
What rating should a riser door be?
It should match the fire resistance the strategy requires for the riser enclosure, commonly 30 or 60 minutes. We confirm it before ordering.
Do riser doors need closers?
Not if they are kept locked shut and the fire strategy allows it; they should then be labelled accordingly. Cupboards that are opened regularly normally need self-closers.
