Fire door replacement: our service in Cambridgeshire
Across Cambridgeshire, from Peterborough to Cambridge, we survey, supply and fit fire door replacement for homes, blocks of flats and workplaces.
If your Cambridgeshire building has an inspection report or fire risk assessment, we quote against the same door references. If a door in your Cambridgeshire building can be repaired rather than replaced, we will tell you.
Managing agents, landlords, schools, care providers, businesses and homeowners in Cambridgeshire can all use one team for survey, supply, installation and evidence. We plan work around occupants and hand over a record for every door.
Repair or replace?
Plenty of fire door faults can be fixed: worn seals, loose hinges, failed closers, small gaps. Replacement is the right call when the leaf is split, delaminated or badly damaged, when gaps are too large to correct within the manufacturer's guidance, when the door was never a fire door, or when unapproved holes and alterations have been made. We explain the reason for every replacement we recommend. Our repairs page covers what can be fixed.
What the rules say for Cambridgeshire
In Cambridgeshire, as elsewhere in England, the starting point is the Fire Safety Order 2005: whoever controls a workplace or the shared parts of a residential block must make sure its fire doors work. When doors are replaced, the Building Regulations and Approved Document B set the standard the new work has to meet.
Blocks above 11 metres have a specific routine under regulation 10 of the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022: quarterly checks of communal fire doors and annual best-endeavours checks of flat front doors. If your Cambridgeshire building is a higher-risk building under the Building Safety Act 2022, we confirm the approval route with the Principal Accountable Person before any work is ordered.
