Fire door replacement in Wisbech: what's involved
Looking for fire door replacement in Wisbech? We supply and fit certified fire doors and components across Wisbech and the wider Cambridgeshire area, working from a free survey and a fixed written quote.
Wisbech has a broad mix of buildings, including small blocks of flats, small offices and schools, and the same fire door principles apply to all of them.
If your Wisbech building has an inspection report or fire risk assessment, we quote against the same door references. If a door in your Wisbech building can be repaired rather than replaced, we will tell you.
After an inspection report
Most replacement work follows a fire door inspection or fire risk assessment. Send us the report and we will price each action, replacement or repair, door by door, so you can prioritise. Our guide to failed inspections explains how to read the findings.
As standard, the work covers:
- Removal and disposal of the old door
- Evidence linked back to your inspection report
- Frame repair or replacement where needed
- Assessment of repair versus replacement
Rules and responsibilities in Wisbech
The rules that apply to fire doors in Wisbech are England's. The responsible person under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 must keep fire doors in non-domestic premises and the common parts of flats in working order; the Fire Safety Act 2021 confirmed that this includes flat entrance doors onto common parts.
Where a Wisbech block is above 11 metres, regulation 10 of the 2022 regulations means communal doors are checked every three months and flat entrance doors annually on a best-endeavours basis. Replacement doors must also satisfy the Building Regulations, with Approved Document B as the guidance most building control bodies work from.
Who needs fire door replacement in Wisbech?
The need for fire door replacement usually arises in HMOs or care homes, and sometimes blocks of flats. Each has its own pressures, such as residents at home or a building that must stay open, so we plan the sequence of work in Wisbech to keep escape routes protected throughout.

Can you replace just the door and keep the frame?
Yes, if the frame is sound and compatible with the new leaf's certification. If not, we replace the whole doorset.
