Riser and cupboard fire doors in Clwyd: what's involved
Our riser and cupboard fire doors service runs throughout Clwyd. Main towns include Wrexham, Buckley and Deeside, and we cover the smaller places in between.
Riser and meter cupboard doors in Clwyd blocks are easy to overlook until an inspection flags them. We match riser doors in Clwyd to the rating of the riser enclosure, not to whatever was there before.
Fire door work in Clwyd spans housing providers with large estates, individual landlords, businesses and homeowners. We price every job from a survey, never from a list price alone, because the condition of the frames and the hardware makes a real difference.
The fire stopping behind the door
The door is only half the picture. Inside the riser, the services passing through each floor must be fire stopped. That is a separate specialist task. Where we find gaps or missing fire stopping while fitting riser doors, we record it and flag it to you so it can be addressed.
Which fire door rules apply in Clwyd?
Fire door work in Clwyd follows Welsh building regulations and the Welsh Approved Document B. The Fire Safety Order 2005 covers workplaces and the shared parts of residential buildings here too, placing the duty on the responsible person.
The English regulation 10 checking regime does not extend to Clwyd, so how often doors are checked comes from the fire risk assessment. We hand over evidence that fits whatever regime your assessor sets.

Common questions
Do you provide riser and cupboard fire doors across Clwyd?
Yes. We cover all of Clwyd, including Wrexham and Buckley. Surveys and written quotes are free.
Do you fix fire stopping inside risers?
Fire stopping is a separate specialist trade. We record anything we see while fitting doors and can coordinate with your fire stopping contractor.
Do riser doors need closers?
Not if they are kept locked shut and the fire strategy allows it; they should then be labelled accordingly. Cupboards that are opened regularly normally need self-closers.
