Riser and cupboard fire doors in Caerphilly, done to the evidence
For property owners, landlords and managing agents in Caerphilly, we offer riser and cupboard fire doors with one team for the survey, the product and the installation.
Buildings in and around Caerphilly range from small offices to houses with integral garages and small blocks of flats. Whatever the building, the standard is the same: certified products, correct gaps, seals and closers, and a frame sealed to the wall.
Riser and meter cupboard doors in Caerphilly blocks are easy to overlook until an inspection flags them. While fitting riser doors in Caerphilly, we photograph any gaps in fire stopping we can see and pass them on to you.
Why riser doors get overlooked
Service riser doors are small, often hidden and rarely opened, so they are easy to forget until an inspection finds them. Common faults include cheap access panels that are not fire rated, missing seals, broken locks and doors that have been removed for access and never refitted. A riser runs through every floor, so a weak door can let fire or smoke bypass the building's compartments.
What you get:
- Seals and frame gap sealing
- Locks and keep-locked arrangements as specified
- Record of any fire stopping concerns found
- Fire-rated riser and cupboard doorsets
Fire door law for Caerphilly properties
Because Caerphilly is in Wales, we work to the Building Regulations as they apply in Wales and to the Welsh version of Approved Document B. The responsible person duties under the Fire Safety Order 2005 still apply to workplaces and common parts.
England's fire door checking rules for tall residential buildings do not apply in Wales, so the checking frequency for doors in Caerphilly comes from your fire risk assessment.
Buildings and duty holders in Caerphilly
Typical settings for riser and cupboard fire doors include student accommodation, blocks of flats and hotels. In Caerphilly, as anywhere, the duty holder varies: a responsible person for a workplace, a landlord or managing agent for a block or HMO, or a homeowner after building work. We adjust access, timing and paperwork to suit whoever commissions the work.

Common questions
Do you work in Caerphilly?
Yes, we take on riser and cupboard fire doors in Caerphilly and the surrounding area, including Risca and Pontypridd. Send your postcode and a few details and we'll come back with survey dates.
Do I need to be there for the survey?
Someone needs to give us access to the doors. For blocks and commercial buildings, a caretaker or site contact is fine; for HMOs and homes, we agree a time with you or your tenants.
What rating should a riser door be?
It should match the fire resistance the strategy requires for the riser enclosure, commonly 30 or 60 minutes. We confirm it before ordering.
Can I use a standard access panel for a riser?
Only if it is a fire-rated product with evidence for the wall rating. Many ordinary access panels and cupboard doors are not fire rated.
