Loft conversion fire doors for Belfast buildings
We provide loft conversion fire doors across Belfast, covering 14 postcode districts from BT1 to BT15.
A loft conversion in Belfast that adds a new storey often brings a building control requirement for fire doors on rooms off the stair. We can fit loft conversion fire doors in Belfast as your builder's subcontractor or directly for you.
Wherever your building is in Belfast, the fire safety duties come from national rules, and our installation standard is the same.
Working with your builder and building control
We can work as a subcontractor to your loft conversion builder or directly for you. We fit doors to match your existing style where certified options exist, and leave product details for building control. Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland have their own guidance on escape from upper floors; we check which applies to your home.
The regulations behind fire doors in Belfast
Belfast is in Northern Ireland, where fire doors are covered by the Building Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2012 and Technical Booklet E on fire safety. Duties in non-domestic premises come from the Fire and Rescue Services (Northern Ireland) Order 2006 and the Fire Safety Regulations (Northern Ireland) 2010.
The English regulation 10 checking regime does not apply here, so the fire risk assessment sets how often doors in Belfast are checked. We hand over evidence that supports it.
