Integral garage fire doors for Gwent buildings
Whether your building is in Newport (Gwent), Cwmbran or a smaller place in Gwent, we can provide integral garage fire doors with the same evidence-led approach.
We fit garage fire doors in Gwent with closers set to shut gently, so they work without slamming. For homes in Gwent with an integral garage, the door into the house is one of the few internal doors expected to be fire-rated and self-closing.
Managing agents, landlords, schools, care providers, businesses and homeowners in Gwent can all use one team for survey, supply, installation and evidence. We plan work around occupants and hand over a record for every door.
When you might need a new garage door
The usual triggers are building control flagging the door during a conversion or extension, a house sale survey raising it, or the discovery that the original door has been swapped for a standard internal door. Some garage conversions remove the need altogether; others create new requirements. Our guide to fire doors in houses explains when they are needed.
Which fire door rules apply in Gwent?
Because Gwent is in Wales, we work to the Building Regulations as they apply in Wales and to the Welsh version of Approved Document B. The responsible person duties under the Fire Safety Order 2005 still apply to workplaces and common parts.
England's fire door checking rules for tall residential buildings do not apply in Wales, so the checking frequency for doors in Gwent comes from your fire risk assessment.
