Integral garage fire doors in Llanelli, done to the evidence
From the SA15 postcode district outwards, we take on integral garage fire doors across Llanelli for homes, blocks and workplaces.
In and around Llanelli, fire door work covers everything from care homes to schools. We plan each job around the people who use the building.
For homes in Llanelli with an integral garage, the door into the house is one of the few internal doors expected to be fire-rated and self-closing. We fit garage fire doors in Llanelli with closers set to shut gently, so they work without slamming.
When you might need a new garage door
The usual triggers are building control flagging the door during a conversion or extension, a house sale survey raising it, or the discovery that the original door has been swapped for a standard internal door. Some garage conversions remove the need altogether; others create new requirements. Our guide to fire doors in houses explains when they are needed.
As standard, the work covers:
- Intumescent and smoke seals
- Self-closer set gently but positively
- Threshold detailing for smoke control
- Survey of the opening, threshold and step
Fire door law for Llanelli properties
Llanelli is in Wales, where new and replacement fire doors are covered by the Building Regulations 2010 as applied in Wales, with the Welsh Approved Document B as guidance. The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 also applies, so responsible persons in workplaces and the common parts of blocks must keep fire doors maintained.
One difference from England: regulation 10 of the Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022, with its quarterly and annual fire door checks, does not apply in Wales. Your fire risk assessment sets the checking regime instead, and we work to it.
