Integral garage fire doors in Flint, done to the evidence
From the CH6 postcode district outwards, we take on integral garage fire doors across Flint for homes, blocks and workplaces.
Buildings in and around Flint range from care homes to small offices and schools. Whatever the building, the standard is the same: certified products, correct gaps, seals and closers, and a frame sealed to the wall.
For homes in Flint with an integral garage, the door into the house is one of the few internal doors expected to be fire-rated and self-closing. If you are selling a home in Flint, we can leave product details for your solicitor along with the door.
What we fit
We fit a certified FD30S doorset or leaf with intumescent and smoke seals, a self-closer set to close and latch the door without slamming, and a threshold detail that keeps the smoke seal effective. We can match the style of your other internal doors where the certified range allows.
What you get:
- Product details for building control or your solicitor
- Self-closer set gently but positively
- Intumescent and smoke seals
- Threshold detailing for smoke control
Rules and responsibilities in Flint
Because Flint is in Wales, we work to the Building Regulations as they apply in Wales and to the Welsh version of Approved Document B. The responsible person duties under the Fire Safety Order 2005 still apply to workplaces and common parts.
England's fire door checking rules for tall residential buildings do not apply in Wales, so the checking frequency for doors in Flint comes from your fire risk assessment.

Questions from Flint
Is Flint within your coverage area?
It is. We cover Flint in Clwyd and neighbouring towns such as Deeside. There is no charge for the survey.
How quickly can you survey in Flint?
It depends on the number of doors and access, but we offer survey dates as soon as we reply to your enquiry. If an inspection has found urgent safety issues, tell us and we'll prioritise.
Will building control accept the door?
We supply certified products and leave product and certificate details so your building control body or solicitor can see what was fitted. The final decision is theirs.
Does my garage door need to be a fire door?
If the garage is integral to the house, Approved Document B in England expects the connecting door to be a fire door with smoke control. Requirements in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland are similar in purpose but set out in their own guidance.
