Fire door repairs and remedial works in Llanelli: what's involved
Our fire door repairs and remedial works service in Llanelli is simple: a survey, a fixed quote, certified products and an installation finished to the manufacturer's evidence.
Buildings in and around Llanelli range from small blocks of flats to family homes after loft conversions and care homes. Whatever the building, the standard is the same: certified products, correct gaps, seals and closers, and a frame sealed to the wall.
We prioritise the most serious defects in your Llanelli building first and return evidence against each action. Many repairs in Llanelli can be completed in a single visit once matching components are on site.
What can be repaired?
Most defects found on inspection are repairable: replacing damaged intumescent strips and smoke seals, re-fixing or replacing hinges and missing screws, replacing or adjusting closers, fixing latches and keeps, fitting intumescent pads behind hinges and locks, re-glazing with the correct system and correcting minor gap issues where the manufacturer's guidance allows. Some repairs, such as hardwood edge repairs, must follow the manufacturer's method to stay within the evidence.
On a typical job that means:
- Seal, strip and pad replacement
- Closer replacement and adjustment
- Re-glazing to the original system
- Before-and-after photos per door
What the rules say for Llanelli
Fire door work in Llanelli follows Welsh building regulations and the Welsh Approved Document B. The Fire Safety Order 2005 covers workplaces and the shared parts of residential buildings here too, placing the duty on the responsible person.
The English regulation 10 checking regime does not extend to Llanelli, so how often doors are checked comes from the fire risk assessment. We hand over evidence that fits whatever regime your assessor sets.
